What is the Black Unicorn Subscription Box?

Black Unicorn is a collection of boxes surrounding various themes and ideas that go along the alternative path. Each box allows Black Unicorn to donate to various animal charities. More about this can be read on the About Us page.

The current offered boxes are the Themed Boxes and the Gothic Mystery Jewelry Boxes. Please continue reading to find out more information.

How do the monthly subscriptions work?

Once you have purchased your first box, Black Unicorn will be able to send the box to you at the address you provide.  After that, every month you will be charged for the next box.

What type of products can I expect to get in the Themed Boxes?

Each month there will be a theme. The items in the box will go with that theme and will include*: 

  • A mini candle + 40% coupon for the same candle on www.blkunicreations.com
  • Featured Etsy sellers/Small Businesses
  • A crystal
  • A jewelry item
  • A unicorn themed item

Items are typically either handmade or customized by Black Unicorn Subscription Box or curated from other small businesses. Each box will also include an information card explaining each of the items included in the box. Types of items that may appear in the box include: 

  • Home decor
  • Beauty products
  • Knick-knacks
  • Vintage Items
  • Art
  • Office items (stationary, writing utensils, etc)
  • Accessories
  • Much, much more!

All products will be vegan and cruelty free as much as possible.

When does the Themed Box subscription Renew?

The Themed Standard Box subscriptions renew at the beginning of each month, on the 1st. This means you are paying one month in advance to the box you will receive. For example, you pay for your October box on September 1st's renewal date.

 Another thing to note is that there is a 10 day cut-off window before each renewal.  For Example: If you are a new subscriber wanting the October box, you would have to subscribe by September 20th, otherwise you will fall into the cut-off window and will be put in for the November box. 

What is the Gothic Jewelry Box?

The Gothic Jewelry Box is a monthly subscription featuring a single piece of jewelry that is in the gothic style. These will be made in house by Owner/Creator Mary Jane. It can be any type of jewelry piece, such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc.

This is a limited box of only 10 subscribers at this time to allow time to craft the jewelry.

When does the Gothic Jewelry Box renew and ship?

This box renews on the 18th of the month and ships the 10th of the following month.

Do you offer a Unicorn Themed Box?

Black Unicorn is no longer offering a Unicorn themed box. Unicorn themed items are usually included in the themed box.

When do the boxes ship?

The Themed boxes ship the first Saturday of the month. Subscriptions are paid a month in advance to allow time to create and procure items. Please refer to the Renew information above for details.

The Gothic Mystery Jewelry box ships on the 10th of the month (allowing exceptions for weekends and postal holidays). Please refer to the Renew information above for details.

Where does Black Unicorn ship to & how much does it cost?

Black Unicorn ships internationally. All postage and custom charges are the responsibility of the consumer and are not the responsibility of Black Unicorn Subscription Box.

Cost is calculated automatically based on your location and USPS pricing.

What is Black Unicorn's return/refund policy?

Due to the surprise nature of this product, Black Unicorn does not accept any returns or offer refunds for shipped boxes under any circumstances. It is the responsibility of the consumer to cancel a box that is not wanted prior to the renewal date. All boxes that have been shipped are considered at that point forward as final sales. Black Unicorn does not offer refunds on future boxes for 3, 6, or 12 month plans if cancellation is made during the paid active subscription period.

What do I do if I receive something that is broken upon arrival?

As soon as you open your box, take a picture of the broken item and email the photo as well as a message detailing the situation to blkunicornsubbox@gmail.com. Black Unicorn will review your situation and send you a replacement item, free of charge, if it is deemed to be the fault of Black Unicorn Subscription Box.

Gift Cards

Gift Card amounts that have been used are final sale and non-refundable (i.e. if one used $40 of their $50 card and wanted a refund, they could potentially get the $10 difference back).

Refund requests for full card amounts must be made within 3 business days and can not have been used. After 3 business days, Black Unicorn reserves the right to accept or deny any requests and make partial refunds if accepted.

I Thought Black Unicorn used to offer a Half box, a Unicorn box, and a Deluxe box. What happened to those?

After evaluating cost, time, efficiency, etc, Black Unicorn has decided to no longer offer these types of subscriptions. Those who were subscribed to such products have been contacted regarding new options.
